Hello TechNow Customers.  Thanks for your Business!
  • Test Your Email Security For FREE
Email Viruses are easy to write and can be distributed across the globe in a matter of days.  Because of this, they are one of the most common Network Security threats and can cost your organization thousands of dollars in lost productivity.  These viruses usually attack one system and then use that system's address book to find additional targets.  Everyone remembers Melissa, Nimda, and Loveletter, just to name a few.  These types of viruses can cripple your email infrastructure in a matter of hours by clogging your storage space with infected, junk emails.

  • The Scoop on XP Certification and the MCSE
Microsoft has already integrated Windows XP and .NET Server Certifications into it's MCSE Program.  The Windows XP exam (70-270) was released on October 23, 2001.  The .Net Server exams are not out yet, but are scheduled to be available later in 2002.  Does that mean you should bypass Windows 2000 certification altogether and just wait for the new exams?  Luckily, the answer is no.  XP is a largely meant to be a consumer version of Windows 2000 and a modest upgrade for Windows 2000 Professional.  Microsoft expects the XP and .Net Server exams to remain available concurrently with the Windows 2000 exams.  This means that unless something changes, you will not have to upgrade from Windows 2000 to XP in order to retain your MCSE.

  • Will JAVA own the Wireless Web?
Not if Microsoft has anything to say about it.  But time is running out for Microsoft's .NET strategy to take hold in the wireless world where its Windows franchise gives it little advantage.  In the meantime industry heavyweight Nokia has chosen to work with Sun Microsystems, BEA Systems and Oracle to create a standard for how wireless devices will connect to the Internet and transfer data that is based on JAVA technology.  So far, this union is proving to be one of the most serious challenges to Microsoft's .NET strategy which seeks to become the industry leader in the emerging web services marketplace that promises to dominate the future of IT.
