Overview

TechNow’s Upgrade from MCSA to MCSE is designed for students who are ready to get industry recognition for their advanced technical skills & push their careers into overdrive.  In just 5 days you can earn your Windows 2000 MCSE by attending our all-inclusive course.  The 5 days cover the 3 exams required to become a full MCSE in Windows 2000.  By the end of this course you will have the skills needed to design, install, configure & troubleshoot a Windows based network & have the certifications to prove it.

This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams:
Exam 70-218: Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment
Exam 70-219: Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
Exam 70-220: Designing Security for Microsoft Windows 2000 Network

Duration: 5 Days

What You Will Learn

Publish resources in Active Directory. Types of resources include printers & shared folders.
Create shared resources & configure access rights. Shared resources include printers, shared folders, & Web folders.
Configure, administer, & troubleshoot DNS.
Manage object & container permissions.
Analyze business & security requirements for the end user.
Analyze the current physical model & information security model.
Design a security baseline for a Windows 2000 network that includes domain controllers, operations masters, application servers, file & print servers, RAS servers, desktop computers, portable computers, & kiosks.
Identify the required level of security for each resource. Resources include printers, files, shares, Internet access, & dial-in access.
Design the placement & inheritance of security policies for sites, domains, & organizational units.
Design an Encrypting File System strategy.
Design a security group strategy.
Provide security-enhanced access to public networks from a private network.
Provide external users with security-enhanced access to private network resources.
Provide security-enhanced access between private networks.
Design Windows 2000 security for remote access users.
Design an IPSec solution.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must be MCSA Certified.
