Students will learn the skills necessary to perform basic maintenance & troubleshooting of a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network.  Also, this course will prepare the student for taking the exams necessary to achieve the MCSA Certification.  The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential is for those who will manage & troubleshoot a Windows 2000 Network.

This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams:
Exam 70-210: Installing, Configuring, & Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Exam 70-215: Installing, Configuring, & Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
Exam 70-216: Implementing & Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
Exam 70-218: Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment

Duration: 10 Days

Describe the fundamentals of TCP/IP, including name resolution, routing, & IP addressing-classful versus Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR).
Differentiate between the various types of network architectures.
Manage access to resources by using groups as well as manage data by using the NTFS file system.
Implement Windows 2000 clients & servers.
Implement Group Policy to centrally manage users & computers.
Implement & manage the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) service.
Configure the DHCP & Domain Name System (DNS) Server service.
Deploy Windows 2000 Professional by using Remote Installation Services (RIS).

Before attending this course, students must have a High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge with basic keyboarding & Windows knowledge.
