Build Fundamental UNIX, Solaris & Linux Skills
 

Overview

This hands-on course provides an intensive overview of fundamental UNIX commands that are common to all flavors of UNIX, including Solaris 2.x, Linux, HPUX & AIX.  At the end of this course students will have a firm grasp of how the UNIX operating system works, how to accomplish powerful functions using multiple commands and how to manipulate and control files, processes, data & file security. Coverage of UNIX shells, basic networking commands & the UNIX common desktop environment round out your fundamental UNIX proficiency.  With the skills gained in this course, students can move on to advanced Solaris or Linux system administration courses or Shell Programming.

Prerequisites

Student should have a basic knowledge of computers.  Command line MS-DOS experience is helpful.

This intensive course benefits end users of UNIX/Solaris/Linux, students studying to become system administrators, or those who wish to attend our TN-315: Complete Hack & Defend course.  This course
is also an excellent preparatory course for students moving on to
Shell Programming.
