N-325: Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS)

Course Overview:

Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) is an instructor-led course. This five-day course focuses on the necessity of a comprehensive security policy and how it affects the posture of the network. TechNow students each get a Cisco Switch, Router, and an ASA. The in the classrom hardware hands-on component of this course is a priority. Using instructor-led discussions, extensive hands-on lab exercises, and supplemental materials, this course allows learners to understand common security concepts, and deploy basic security techniques utilizing a variety of popular security appliances within a “real-life” network infrastructure. TechNow is an Authorized VUE testing partner and this course concludes with the student taking the 210-260 IINS Cisco Certification Exam.

Audience: Cisco Network Administrators. This course is an excellent precursor to Palo Alto Network Firewall Training

TN-969: Windows Security Administrator Course

Course Overview:

A skills focus enables the student to better absorb the subject matter and perform successfully on the job. This is not death by power point. The course is aligned with information assurance operators and executing hands-on labs to secure Windows systems. Lecture and labs start with quick review of Active Directory and group policy to enforce security mechanisms within the Windows architecture. Students then gain network experience and use sniffing to help exemplify the benefit of learning wired and wireless security configurations. PowerShell is made for SecOps/DevOps automation and students will learn to write PowerShell scripts to automate security operations and Desired State Configuration (DSC). The course concludes with exercising real attack strategies to demonstrate the effectives of properly securing your host.

Learn to protect yourself and your company against hackers, by learning their tools and techniques, and then testing your network. This course is heavily based on Kali and primarily on Metasploit. This is an advanced course that assumes the attendee is a qualified security professional with experience using security tools and understands the concepts behind penetration testing. Courses that build up the expertise that enables a student to succeed in this course is Security+, CEH, CISSP, and any of the GIAC certifications. This course is completely hands-on and utilizes the BackTrack tool suite from backtrack-linux.org.
